- Uncooked rice
- Water
- Cooked rice
- Milk (optional)
- Yeast
- Baking powder
- Sugar
- Salt
- Onion, chopped
Procedure[edit | edit source]
- Soak the uncooked rice in water until softened. Grind well.
- Mix the cooked rice into the ground rice.
- Stir in milk, yeast, baking powder, sugar, and salt to taste.
- Stir in the chopped onions. Cover and let rest for several minutes to allow the mixture to rise.
- Heat some oil in a pan.
- Drop spoonfuls of batter in the pan. Cook until golden on each side and cooked through. Repeat until all batter is used up.
- Serve masa with soup or suya yaji.
