Miyan lalo is a jute leaf soup made commonly eaten by Hausa people of northern Nigeria. It is similar to the ewedu soup eaten amongst the Yoruba people.

- Kanwa (potash)
- Daddawa (fermented locust bean), pounded
Equipment[edit | edit source]
Procedure[edit | edit source]
- Boil the meat in a pot with a little water, adding stock cube and grated onion for flavor.
- Blend together the pepper and chopped onion.
- To the pot of meat, add the jute leaves and kanwa. Cook for 5–10 minutes.
- Add the blended pepper mixture and locust bean. Cook for 2 minutes and serve.
